Pioneer Day Parade Entry

There is no fee to participate in the Pioneer Day parade. Submit one entry for each float, vehicle, animal, or walking group.

The parade is on September 12 at 5:00 PM. Lineup begins at 2:00 PM at the Old School Community Center, and all entries must be in line by 3:00 PM. Entries are placed in line in the order they arrive — there is no assigned lineup order. Enter from the football field and approach the parade line from that direction.

Parade rules

  • By participating in the parade, you agree that the City of Cleveland and all event organizers are not responsible for any accidents or injuries during the parade.
  • A responsible adult must be present for any children riding or walking in the parade.
  • No real weapons or firearms are allowed on participating floats or entries, except for law enforcement.
  • Masks are recommended but not required.
  • After turning east (left) onto Osage Street, traffic will continue moving behind you — continue down Osage Street to Hanson Park before stopping so you do not hold up the parade behind you.
No candy may be thrown from floats or moving vehicles. The City of Cleveland does not allow candy to be thrown during parades, and our insurance does not cover it. Last year candy thrown into the road caused children to enter the roadway while vehicles were still moving — please follow this rule.
